Following are complete instructions for install and enable SMTP server on your Microsoft Windows XP Professional system.
- Open Windows Control Panel
- Click on Add/Remove Programs
- Click on Add/Remove Windows Components
- Select Internet Information Services (IIS) and click on Details button
- Check on SMTP Service and Click on OK button
After this process Microsoft Windows will ask Microsoft Windows XP Professional CD-Disk. Insert Windows XP Professional CD and install SMTP Services on your Windows.
After completing installation process your Windows is ready to perform as SMTP Server. Now you can use your computer as SMTP Server. Open your Email client like Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook and configure your email but don't forget to mention SMTP server as "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" without any authentication.
