What is Operating System (OS)?

Operating system is software that operates hardware and other soft wares. In simple words Operating system is a link or bridge between computer hardware and humans. Humans pass instructions to computer system through Operating system. For example if human or computer user saves a file using any Word Processing software then Operating system receives the instructions and stores the file in computer hard disk.
