FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. This protocol is used for transfer files to remote computer. Remote computer must configured as FTP server and your computer needs FTP client.

When FTP client needed?
Mostly webmasters or web site owners need FTP clients. When they purchased hosting from remote servers and they need to transfer there web site files to that remote server.
