Multimedia Applications
Business, education, entertainment etc. are main fields where multimedia applications are being used nowadays. Some important multimedia applications are being discussed here:
Business Presentations
Many businesses and industries use multimedia applications to create business and marketing presentations to advertise and sale their products. These presentations can be arranged in a small office using computer monitor or before a large gathering of people using multimedia projectors. Moreover these applications can be used to produce television commercials using animation and multimedia effects.
Computer Based Training (CBT) CD’s offer a great help to provide easy training of software programs, school/college lessons, games, sports, exercises, and other scientific techniques. An airline company, for example, can use CBT software to train their employees for flight operations and emergency situations. Similarly a cricket team coach can use CBT software to train his players and point out some common mistakes committed by players during fielding, batting, and bowling sessions.
Electronic Books
An Electronic Book (e-book) is a collection of digital text containing important terms and other references (which are normally underlined or bold faced). User can click these terms and references to further expand or jump to the detailed discussion. User can play sound or video clips explaining these terms. Sometimes graphics and animation effects are also included to attract the readers. These books also have index, glossary, table of contents and preface etc. Different command buttons and icons are used for this purpose.
Entertainment
Television, radio, cinema, and theater entertainments can also be enjoyed by using multimedia applications. Through these applications trailers of movies, title songs of music albums, and detailed contents can be accessed by a single click of mouse button. Music and cinema industry can sell their products online accepting the users payments through credit cards.
