Creating Folders
The files are properly managed in folders. A folder can further have sub-folders. A folder is created on the disk before to copy files to it. You can also create folders on the desktop.
To create a new folder or sub-folder, follow these steps:
- Open the drive or folder, in which you want to create folder or sub-folder.
- On the File menu; point to “New” and then Click Folder.
OR Right click on the empty space, a popup menu appears. Choose New and then select Folder. A folder with default name “New Folder” is created.
- Type proper name for the new folder and then press Enter.
Selecting Files & Folders
In Windows, an object like file or folder is selected before performing any operation on it. Usually, when a file or folder is single clicked it is selected. To select multiple files or folders, procedure is given below.
- To select more than one files or folders those are adjacent to one another:
- Select the first file or folder.
- Hold down the Shift key, and then select the last file or folder.
- To select more than one files or folders those are not adjacent to one another:
- Select the first file or folder.
- Hold down the Ctrl key, and then select files or folders by clicking on their icons one by one.
- To select all files or folders:
- From Edit menu, Choose “Select All” command.
OR
- Press Ctrl + A, shortcut key.
