How to Connect to Internet?
You must have Internet account of any ISP (Internet Service Provider) company to connect to Internet. In Pakistan there are many ISP companies. In all big cities, there are many ISP companies. Most Internet Service Providers have their Internet cards available in your local market having amount of Rs.10 to Rs.100. The rate of Internet charges is from Rs.2 to Rs.5 per hour. Purchase the card and follow the instructions given on the card. It is very easy & fast way to get Internet account to connect to Internet. The following hardware and software are required to connect to the Internet.
Hardware
- A computer running under Microsoft Windows 9x, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, Macintosh or any *nix operating system.
- A telephone line to connect to the ISP server.
- A modem to exchange information between user’s computer & server of ISP through telephone line.
Software:
- Web Browser for browsing the Internet.
- TCP/IP Protocol. The Microsoft Windows 9x, Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista already includes the TCP/IP.
- Dial up software to establish connection between your personal computer and the server of ISP.
